I “Love” These Hearts!

July 6th, 2011 | By admin in Altered Art, Hearts | 4 Comments »

Jamie D. here to show you a fun way on using the mixture of hearts!! I love these hearts!!!  There are so many possibilities with these!  You can use so many different mediums on them as well!! On the Love title.

I used one of the buttons as part of the title.

You can even emboss the hearts to add texture and depth.  I used Glimmer Mist and Gesso to alter the hearts. and embossed the two hearts with Tim Holtz Wood Grain embossing template.  I then hung them with wire in a reversed canvas to create this shadow box.

I hope this gives you another fun way on how to use these amazing shapes and can’t wait to see what you create using Basically Bare pieces !!!

Dressing Up

June 20th, 2011 | By admin in Altered Art, Blossoms and Leaves, Dress Forms | 3 Comments »

Hello, Jamie Dougherty here to give you a few ideas on using the FUN Basically Bare Dress Forms and The Dress Me Up Little Layers.

I used one of the Chipboard dress forms and painted it with Gold acrylic paint.  I then used one of the Little Layers Canvas pieces and sprayed it with Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist and used it as a petty coat underneath.  I used some of my own scrap materials to create the pock-a-dot dress and added a Little layers felt piece as the apron. The top was altered with Flirty Glimmer Glaze as well/  I used the dress form as a stencil as well.  Along with the Chipboard flowers.

I hope this gives you some new techniques and ideas when using the Basically Bare pieces.

Look at his Gears Working

June 6th, 2011 | By admin in Page Layouts | 4 Comments »

At take a look at how well these gears work on the page. :)  Jamie Dougherty Here to show you a couple of things I did using an assortment of Gears.

I pulled them apart, I painted them, I even used them as a mask to create my background.  Your options are endless.  I pulled a corrugated gear apart and used both the front I pulled off and the Corrugated piece as well.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Stickles on one of the gears to give it an aged worn look.  I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze (Cowboy)on the Acrylic pieces to make them pop.  Stacking them up on the page created depth and dimension.

Thank you for stopping by the Basically Bare Blog today and remember to stop by an check out more great ideas and class schedules from the team.
