How to build a fort…use leaves and twigs!

November 22nd, 2012 | By Audrey in Blossoms and Leaves, Happy Little Trees, Uncategorized | 2 Comments »

Hello everyone!  Audrey here with my very FIRST post on the Basically Bare blog!  Very excited!  :)

I had a stack of fall photos on my desk still when I got my stash of Basically Bare goodies.  So the first thing I went to were the “Happy Little Trees” set and the “Blossoms and Leaves”.

I started by misting the leaves with a stencil and some spray ink.  For the tree branches, I used a small woodgrain stamp and some Chestnut Roan ink.

I splattered some mists on a few leaves, stitched on some, and added some journaling to others.

I added some more splatters around the page, some stickers for my title, and then a bit more machine stitching.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving with family and friends!!

Cute & Cozy

September 23rd, 2012 | By Rebecca in Page Layouts | 2 Comments »

I’m a proud kitty momma. I’ve got a two year old boy and our new little girl is 16 weeks old. They get along  just fine, and for this, I have to credit my big boy Lester. He wasn’t exactly happy with a new kitten in the house. He did have to teach her some manners when all she wanted to do was play while he wanted to be left alone. Now they play pretty happily together, and also nap with each other. I think it’s extremely CUTE!

I have so many adorable pictures of them to scrap, like the one in this layout.

I used a variety of  Basically Bare goodies on this page. First, there is a banner in the top corner, using the Bare Basics Small Pennants.

To add to the layering behind the photo, I included a Fanciful Frame.

 The flowers are all Basically Bare, the Blossoms and Leaves set to be exact. These are fun to layer on top of one another.

Flower Pots With Momenta And Basically Bare

June 5th, 2012 | By Rebecca in Altered Art | 22 Comments »

Happy Tuesday morning everyone! I am very happy to be a part of the Momenta and Basically Bare swap. I was inspired by the beautiful papers and embellishments of Momenta’s Butterfly Garden collection. I had some wooden flower pots lying around and thought this was the perfect time to use them. Here they are plain, definitely in need of a makeover, right?

I base painted the pots and bottom tray a mustard yellow color first. After thoroughly dry, I traced the   pot shape onto Momenta papers and cut out four sides for each pot. I lightly distressed each edge of the paper pieces before adhering them onto the pots, one side at a time. A little bit of ink on each edge gives it a shabby look.

Now it was time to embellish, so I turned to the Basically Bare Blossoms And Leaves set  and Bare Basics Small Pennants. I used Green, Pink, and Yellow Zig Painty FX Markers to color them. A few cute Momenta Puffy Borders and tags and bling from The Butterfly Garden Sticker Kit finished off the pots. Love how these turned out!

With the pots finished, I just needed to fill them with  some pretty Petunias. Aren’t these sweet? They would make a great neighbor or teacher thank you gift, wouldn’t they? I’m going to keep mine in a sunny spot on my kitchen counter for awhile, they just make me happy!

A Garden Of Love

Happy Monday everyone! Sarah’s in the houuuusee! ;)

Have you all been working diligently on your Mother’s Day cards?! (wink wink) Well, it is quickly approaching and I’m here to remind you to not forget about Gramma! She’s a momma too right? Of course! This time around I had the pleasure of playing with not only Basically Bare products, but The Paper Loft products as well. They generously provided me the “Gentler Times” line to play with, and included were these really cool accessory sheets that you can cut apart. One of them popped out at me because it had the word garden in it, (which I love!) so I cut it out, ran it through my die cutting machine and this is what I came up with;

I really love the muted calm colors in this paper line, very “gentle!” I took a Basically Bare canvas blossom and stamped on it with some avacado-ish ink, and tucked it back behind a Basically Bare frame that got slathered with some crackle paint and walnut ink.

Basically Bare products are so much fun to work with because you can pretty much do anything you want to them! Endless possibilities! I added some stitching through some Basically Bare Leaves and placed them behind a Prima flower;

It was fun pairing up Basically Bare with The Paper Loft! I hope I’ve inspired you all to go and whip out some Mother’s Day cards, and don’t forget Granny! ;) Thanks for hangin out!

xoxo Sarah

Bits and Pieces

January 8th, 2012 | By admin in Blossoms and Leaves | 2 Comments »

Happy Sunday!!  It’s Tanisha here and today I have a layout to share with you.    All last year, I participated in a self portrait project where the goal was to take one self portrait every week for one year.  Some weeks, I fumbled through the task, but other weeks I ended up with some really great shots.    I used a couple of Basically Bare pieces: canvas leaves from the Blossoms & Leaves set and the film strip border from the Paparazzi Set to highlight a couple of my favorite self portraits from the project.

I cut the film strip into pieces in order to use a strip as a border on my layout. I set aside the rest to use on another project.

I added crackle accents to the border strip for added interest.

I took 2 leaves from the package, folded them  in half and stapled close to the fold.

I used WOW’s “Call Me” stamp set to stamp the leaves.

Here’s a close up of one of the canvas  leaves and the scalloped border that I stamped and embossed with WOW embossing powder in earth tone honey.

That’s all from me today.  Hope to see you back here soon!!
