A Boy Named Tom

August 17th, 2012 | By Beth in Mini Albums & Journals | 14 Comments »

Hey, y’all!  I’ve got an album to share today that features the great Curiosity line from Authentique – and some adorable pics of a little man named Tom!

The cover is embellished with several bits of Authentique paper, some ribbon, some Punchinella from Gauche Alchemy, some alpha stickers, and cotton cord on the rings.

And the cuteness begins!

Seriously.  How cute?!?!  This page has some more bits of the Authentique paper and some baker’s twine for embellishment.

For this page, I painted some Basically Bare Arrows with a Zig Painty marker, and wrapped them in embroidery floss.

I ran the policy envelope through the printer and made a little spot to keep a drawing for posterity.

I mean, seriously. Look at that face.

This next page has some Prima flowers and more Authentique bits.

For the acrylic page, I stamped some robots.  Because it’s boy album.  And it must have robots.

And rounding out the bonanza of adorability is this last page, with more pieces cut from the Authentique papers and a sticker from the Curiosity collection pack.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Extra huge thanks Mrs. Kate for letting me use her little guy’s pictures, and to Authentique for the great papers!

x Beth

The Curiosity Crew

Hey everyone! Basically Bare is swapping with Authentique this week and I am excited to show you my project! Recently I met up with a friend and her boys for lunch at a local park. The park used to be a quarry and there is a cool, supposedly haunted, tunnel located there. You just have to cross a creek to get to it. So, we dressed the kids in some proper creeking shoes and headed off to explore the darker side of this park. We got some great shots that day, some of them from my spot, standing knee-deep in dirty creek water sweating my hind end off. But hey, that is what a good scrapper does right? Anything for “the shot.”

One of my favorite pictures shows the kids leaning against the tunnel wall. I loved the dark feeling of the picture and I wanted to make it stand out. I turned to the blues and yellows of Authentique’s Curiosity collection. I glued my basic design down to the background first. Then, I poured black paint all over it. It was a little scary, and yes, I could have ended up hating the results. But actually, I think it turned out great! The paint ended up looking a bit like a tar spill. It really works with the papers and picture.

To embellish this picture, nothing could be better than Bare Basics Gears. I lightly distressed the chipboard and corrugated gears with some inks and a White Painty FX Pen from Kuretake. I also layered in a few of the acrylic gears to create depth.

Thank you for joining Basically Bare and Authentique for our swap! Stay tuned for more inspiring projects!

Pocket Book Wedding Style!!!

February 18th, 2012 | By admin in Altered Art, Hearts, Mini Albums & Journals | 5 Comments »

I’ve never been a Mini Album kinda girl. Always thought I didn’t have what it took to create them. That all changed when I received my new CHA releases from Basically Bare. My brain started working overtime and the ideas started flooding in.

Hey there everyone, Erika Taylor here to share with you one of the albums I created for the Basically Bare CHA booth this year. I wanted to create something that would keep some of my wedding memories alive, so I went into uber romance mode and this album was the end result. This Pocket book was perfect to hold some of the items that I kept from our Vegas wedding. So here we go…

Here is the front cover, filled with Authentique papers, lace, rhinestones and distress ink. Followed by the pages of the Pocket Book in order for you to see.

The next page uses one of the Basically Bare hearts

The heart below is a combination of the acrylic Basically Bare heart, a tag, then the chipboard heart for sturdiness

Our Wedding Vows…

This album was such a joy to create and I hope that you have fallen in love with the wonderful Pocket Books available from Basically Bare. The options for creating with these are endless.

Thank you so much for stopping in today. I hope that I’ve inspired you and I would love to hear about your weddings. Leave me a comment and let me know what your fondest wedding moment is.

until next time

Toodles
