Paparazzi in the Park
26 January 2013 | By Beth in Page Layouts, PaparazziHi, guys! I’ve got a layout to share today that combines some of my favorite Basically Bare embellies – the Paparazzi chipboard shapes – with my new favorite mediums, Art Anthology Sorbets.
I absolutely love the texture and shimmer the Sorbet dimensional gel paints added to the super cute camera and film strip shapes from the Paparazzi set. I jazzed them up with some baker’s twine, and a glassy effect for the camera.
To add the glass effect to the lens and viewfinder of the camera, I placed the chipboard directly on a non-stick craft mat and smoothed a bit of glass beads gel in the openings. I left it to dry overnight to be sure it was completely dry, then I popped it right off the mat.
The beads adhere to the edges of the chipboard but come cleanly off of the nonstick mat to give a transparent finish. I am absolutely going to do this again, but this time, I plan on trying it with Art Anthology’s new Dimensional Crystals that y’all are going to LOVE. They’re dimensional, shiny, and sparkly – how could you not love them?
Ok, back to the project at hand (I’m so easily distracted!). I made the flag by tying three bamboo pieces together with baker’s twine. The shape was cut using my Silhouette Cameo and a shape file from their online store.
The little Polaroid picture-looking bits were cut from American Crafts paper, as were the “twenty” and “12″ bits.
Then a little journaling with a Zig pen directly on the background paper, which is also from American Crafts.
That’s all for me today. I hope you all have a great weekend!
‘Til next time,
- x Beth
