Easy Easel is a Snap
24 January 2013 | By Marilyn in UncategorizedWell it’s a new year. Time for new beginnings and new projects. Today’s project is my take on Basically Bare’s Small Easy Easel. Fun fun fun to work with! So, I grabbed up my Graphic 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe papers and started gluing!
For the front page, I loved the look of the bicycle paper so I trimmed that to fit. I then painted over that with Art Anthology’s Dazzle Sorbet paint for a little extra glitter (can’t ever go wrong with glitter). Then I fussy cut a few tags, images, and trims, inking all the edges with Walnut Distress Ink. At the very bottom, I added a little label for journaling.
Butterflies are a fave of mine and I wanted to bring attention to this. So, more fussy cutting & more inking of edges going on but this time I added a Basically Bare Retro Arrow to the mix, painting it with Art Anthology Satin Sheer Gold Sorbet.
It’s a little difficult to see in this picture (hard to photograph), but I painted the background with Art Anthology Frost Sorbet. Love the sparkle it gives! I then fussy cut out more images and added a journal label. I used foam tape to “pop” the lady out of the background to give the page more interest.
This is my favorite page. I love the black and antiquey-stain look paired with a silver border from K&Company. I ran some Tim Holtz tissue tape across the background to give it a little more interest.
Here, I fussy cut an image of a butterfly and using Glossy Accents, placed it under a glass rectangle. Instant way to highlight any image! I added a Tim Holtz ticket as a journal tag.
Here’s what holds it all up. The easel legs. I created a rosette and glued on a Basically Bare Black Retro Arrow painted with Art Anthology Splash Sorbet. Yes, I really, really love glittery, sparkly things.
Love those polka-dots! I edged both easel legs with gold Stickles to finish off the sides.
So there you have it. A wonderful Basically Bare Easy Easel. Easy and fun to create with. So grab you easel, your glue, papers, and embellies and go have fun!
Until later………………
Smiles~
