To Paris with “Hats and Staches”
05 August 2012 | By Veronica in UncategorizedHi, Veronica again, and I am so excited to share with you today. Whoot, Whoot I made Tags! Tags are my second best thing to make because I can go wild with the playing around on a small surface. I figure if my experimenting and playing around doesn’t translate from my head to the tag, then “oh well” I can start over because I didn’t invest tons of time since I was working with a 3.5 x 7 space.
I am so happy that I got to play with the new CHA Summer release “Hats & Staches” mixed media embellishments.
I used the cute “beret” and the matching mustache to make two Paris inspired tags. Since I was experimenting and playing around I really layered it on. I didn’t have to worry about leaving space for photos so I went crazy with the layering. So much fun!
I also added the “Fleur Di Lis” from the Basically Bare embellishments. This one is the corrugated cardboard fleur di lis that I embossed with ranger and WOW embossing powders. Then I sprayed glimmer mist on everything.
There are about 7 layers on this tag! I used some scrap prima and glitz papers, some prima flowers, IOD sticker letters, 7 gypsies metal border, prima lace, May Arts ribbon and the best part? They were all scraps!
Here is a closer photo of the cute chipboard beret hat. Isn’t it so cute?
This tag is featuring the mustache that goes with the cute beret from the “Hats and Staches” embellie pack. I used lots of layers, metals, prima flowers and a mixture of paper scraps.
I used a nice Eiffel Tower stamp (Art Impressions) which I embossed with “skyline grey” WOW embossing powder to give my tag the Paris inspiration that I got from my stache.
Close up of the cute paris inspired “stache” which I embossed with a combo of ranger and WOW embossing powders. Then I sprayed glimmer mist on top and heat set.
So my tip for the day is that if you want to try something “new” and just want to play and experiment … get yourself a tag and some Basically Bare chipboard embellies and go to town!
Happy Scrapping
