So Berry Sweet
14 April 2012 | By admin in Page Layouts, UncategorizedHey papercrafting peeps!! Sarah Bargo reporting here, and this is my first post for the Basically Bare Design Team woohoo! I am sooo excited to be a part of the “Scrap Stars,” there is some major talent here! I have been a hard-core scrapper for about 13 years now. My 2 little angels boys are defenitely my biggest source of inspiration, along with amazing products out on the market, such as the Basically Bare Embellies. Oh my gosh these are so fun to play with! There is so much you can do with them!
So for my first post I wanted to create a layout, and I’ve been wanting to scrap this picture of my niece and I. We had the funnest day together and she is such a sweety I had to do something, well, sweet! I absolutely love strawberries (obsessed) so I thought that would be perfect! I searched through my new Basically Bare goodies and this is what I came up with;
This was a really fun layout because I’m always making boy-esque pages and this one is super girly! I wanted to create a large focal point of berries, so I grabbed my Bare Basics Hearts Set #1, covered 2 of them in paper, and distressed the edges. Then of course they need stems and leaves, right? Welll I thought the Bare Basics Happy Little Tree Trunks would look cute and stem-ish so I also covered them with paper, flipped them babies upside down and voila! A happy little stem lol! I misted the leaves from the Blossom & Leaves set with Tattered Angels Meadow Green Glimmer Mist. I loovvvee misting the Basically Bare canvas shapes, the end result looks awesome! Annnndd of course every strawberry plant needs a white felt blossom..
I must say it was really fun trying to use shapes in different out-of-the-box kind of ways, you should try it! That’s what being creative is all about right?
Here’s a couple more shots, I made some hidden journaling tags that can be pulled down. For my writing utensil I used a Zig Writer, from Kurtake.
Added a few more sprinkles;
That’s my niece Lexi girl, isn’t she a sweety?
So that’s it for now darlings, I hope I’ve inspired you to play and try a little something “out-of-the-box!” Happy Crafting!
Love, Sarah

Hmm it looks like your website ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any tips and hints for novice blog writers? I’d certainly appreciate it.
