April Showers…
08 April 2012 | By admin in Altered Art, Blossoms and Leaves, PaisleysHi! Jen Matott here and I’m so excited to share my first Basically Bare project as an Art Assembly DT member! I love altering canvas and was inspired by the clouds in the Celestial Shapes and the flowers in the Blossoms and Leaves shape sets to create this Spring -themed home decor piece.
I used a Crafter’s Workshop cloud template to create the patterned paper clouds and embossing powder clouds.

The paisley print clouds are from the Celestial Shapes set and stamped with Pink Paislee’s Indigo Bleu line.
I created a watery blue background and added all the layers of clouds . The flowers are so cute… some were covered with patterned papers and some stamped and colored with Zig Fabric markers.
I also colored and stitched the leaves with twine. The stems are twine that was sewn through the canvas onto the back.
Finally, I added the words with Pink Paislee’s tiny letters and added their buttons to the centers of my flowers. I also stamped and embossed this beautiful butterfly (using the Build a Butterfly stamp from WOW! Embossing powders) over patterned paper to add some color to the piece.
This little beauty is sitting on my mantel to welcome Spring into my house! I hope you enjoyed my project using the Basically Bare shapes! They are adorable and fun to work with!
