Birthday Princess Rosette

March 28th, 2012 | By Rebecca in Uncategorized | 3 Comments »

Hey everyone, Rebecca here with a fun idea for your children’s birthdays! Last week both of my children had birthdays, so we were busy busy around here! My daughter’s birthday fell on a Saturday, so we were able to have a little party. To make her special day even better, I whipped up a rosette she could wear on her dress.

I used a Fanciful Frame and traced it onto a piece of chipboard. I cut that piece out, giving me two of the shapes. I embossed the original frame with silver WOW Embossing powder. I printed out “Birthday Princess” and cut it to fit on top of the Fanciful Frame. A variety of trims were easy to find in my stash, and I adhered them to the extra chipboard frame cut earlier. To finish the rosette, I glued pretty pink lace around the back of the embossed frame, and then pressed it down on top of the other frame. This trapped the trims between two layers so they would be secure enough to wear. I added a “7″ on the frame and that was it! She really loved wearing it, and STILL wears it even after her big day!

So Very Handsome

Hello Basically Bare blog readers!!  It’s Tanisha here and today I am sharing some simple ideas for adding pizazz to your chipboard.

I used 3 different pieces here: 1 chipboard page from the Tiny Tabs mini album, chipboard buttons, and a chipboard arrow along with Bella Blvd’s Mr. Boy line.

I used the tiny tabs page to house my title.  I inked the top portion of it and then covered the rest with patterned paper.

I added a frilly ribbon to the holes to give it a happy look before adhering with pop dots to my layout.

I used the large arrow as my journaling block.  I used a ruler and scorer to create lines to ensure that my journaling was straight.

I used the extra fine Zig Posterman marker for the journaling.  I shows up so well against the black arrow.  I covered on button with patterned paper and added a twine bow.  I simply inked the second button and added twine before using it in my title.  Cute right?

Thanks for stopping by today.  Come back soon to see what the rest of the DT is up to!

Baby Girl Lunchbox Tin

March 26th, 2012 | By admin in Uncategorized | 1 Comment »

Today is a special entry for me. I am bringing you a favorite project I made for a friend of mine.  She is a scrapbooking friend I met a few years ago and we just clicked and the rest is history.  Well, she is having her first granddaughter.  Many many boys have been born, but this is the very first girl on her side of the family.  So obiously I needed to make her a special momento to keep.  Here it is!!

The front of the tin with the name of the baby at the top.  Aubrie Marie.  Very fun and playfull.

Basically Bare has a wonderful baby set and I used the bottle above.  It is the acrylic bottle.  I wanted to outline it in pink and water-wash the white to make it look like milk.

The rattle is made of chipboard and I painted it pink with rick rack, Stickles and a flower.  So cute and easy to make.  You will love this packet.  One of the other figures is a bassinett.

Closer view.

I hope you enjoyed my project and will try it yourself.  The lunchbox tins can be used for any occasion and most likely there will be embellishments from Basically Bare to fit the subject.

Thank you for stopping by and “be creative”.

Bittersweet

I have truly been blessed to be a part of something amazing. When I first received an email asking if I would be interested to be a part of Basically Bare, I was speechless. So as today arrived I was a little saddened that this will be my last post as a full time design team member for Basically Bare. With that said, I’ve saved my favorite Basically Bare project for last and I do hope that all of you enjoy it.

This album is my very first mini album so to speak and to begin with I was scared stiff to try, but then I started thinking why not create a Words of Wisdom book instead of a photo book and this little gem began… Today I am sharing with you a few of the pages and I will share the rest tomorrow

All of the album has been created using Wow Embossing Powders and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. The album itself transformed into a very earthbound quote book, using eggshells, feathers, and sand. I so hope that you have enjoyed the posts that I’ve offered over the past while and I thank you all so very much for being a part of the Basically Bare family.

Until tomorrow

A Puppy Party Mini Album

March 22nd, 2012 | By Katrina in Blossoms and Leaves, Krafty Keepsake Album, Mini Albums & Journals, Uncategorized | 5 Comments »

It’s time for another sneak preview of the work to come from our incoming Design Team.  Today, we have an adorable album by Katrina!

____________________________________________

Hey everyone, it’s Katrina here!  This is my first “post” here on the Basically Bare blog and I am so happy to be here.  I have a fun mini album to share with you today featuring lots of Basically Bare goodies and adorable puppies.  There are lots of pictures, so I am just going to get started.

For my mini, I used the Krafty Keepsake Plain Jane mini album.  LOVE this album and the versatility of it.  You can easily take out pages to alter them, make your mini smaller or you could even add some things if you wanted!   Next time I think I am going to paint the pages!  Yippee!!

On the cover I had some fun with the new Basically Bare Arrow embellishments.  There is an acrylic one on there also!

Here I used the Blossoms from the Blossoms and Leaves embellishments to add an accent to the page.

And to frame these adorable pictures I used a frame from the Fanciful Frames set and then also used a chipboard star from the Celestial Shapes set to accent it.

I liked the look of the bare chipboard on the star, so it was perfect leaving it bare!

For a lot of the title work and some of the die cuts (like the row of hearts) I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut items out.  I could make them perfectly fit into the areas I wanted them to go in my mini.

On this next page, I didn’t have enough pictures to cove the entire length of the policy envelope, so I just cut the end off of it, slid it over the other half and made a shorter policy envelope!

I also used one of the felt buttons to accent my title.

You can see in the next picture how the policy envelope is shorter than it usually is.

I used an acrylic arrow to point out EXACTLY what they were doing…chewing!

I used some more of the Celestial Shapes for this page.  I stacked two stars together, one acrylic and one covered chipboard onto the covered chipboard moon.

That is it from me today!  I hope you enjoyed this puppy mini album, I know I had lots of fun making it.

Hugs,

Katrina Hunt

Paper, Scissors and Glue

A Rosy Trinket Box

March 20th, 2012 | By Beth in Altered Art, Uncategorized | 1 Comment »

Hey, guys!  Welcome back to the design blog!  Today I’ve got a project to share using some Graphic 45 Paper and a Walnut Hollow Small Lancaster Trunk wooden box, and featuring a frame from the Basically Bare Fanciful Frames set.

The box was painted with some copper acrylic paint and then covered with Graphic 45 Communique papers.  All of the edges are distress inked and rhinestones were added at the points of each of the diamond shapes on the paper.

The satin flower was made by slightly burning the edges of progressively smaller circles of fabric.  They’re super easy once you get the hang of it (and make sure your homeowners insurance is all paid up before you start playing with the grill lighter.)

The paper leaves are inked with gold ink and then painted with Glimmer Glam for shine.  The plastic leaves behind the flower are the wings from a set of Stack-a-Bellies Owls.

The frame was inked gold and then glued onto more of the Graphic 45 Communique paper and then cut out and applied to the top of the box.

That’s it for today.  Thanks so much for visiting, come back soon!

Time To Create

March 19th, 2012 | By Beth in Altered Art | 3 Comments »

Hello everyone! My project today is a Basically Bare and Walnut Hollow clock that was super easy – and a lot of fun – to put together.

This really was a breeze to make.  I painted the wooden base of the clock with black and just a bit of metallic off-white paint.  Once it was dry, I attached the numbers that came in the Walnut Hollow clock kit.

Then I moved on to the Bare Basics Gears.  I punched a hole in the center of the largest gear that was the same size as the hole in the middle of the wooden base.   All three gears were covered in layers of metallic WOW embossing powders and heat embossed.  The smaller two gears got small brads added to the middles.

I adhered the largest gear to the center of the wooden base, and the clock mechanism and hands were put together on top of it.  Then I added the smaller two gears around the center.

I added some Tim Holtz letter stickers and was done!

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog!

2012 Monthly Calendar Book

March 17th, 2012 | By admin in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Hello everyone, Sandra here today.  When I was given the book below, I was so excited to create something different and unique.  I enjoyed building each page and adding special touches to each one.  Have fun looking and I hope it will inspire you to try new ideas and just let your creative juices flow.

Cover of book

January and February

January is sporting a pocket that you can add special dates for the month and make notes to keep and pass on.

For the month of February I used a dress form that I folded the skirt, wrapped it in tulle and added on of the BB hearts after I stripped off the covering.  It certainly gives it a femmine look.  Behind the form is a pocket for special dates, pictures or other important stashes.

March,  April and May

March is sporting “A Bit of the Green”  and shows a shamrock.  I made it from using the BB hearts, painted green and placed to look like clover.  Below the shamrock are gathered vintage patterns that the clover is growing out of.

April and May are brought to life using BB celestial shapes the sun comes up over a pocket  you can stuff with garden plans, seed packets and other specialties.

June, July and August

Butterflies, flowers and a pocket packet for goodies.

July and August are highlighted with vintage lace, large pocket for treasures and journaling.  The Graphic 45 card  is from a used embellishments packet.

Thank you for stopping by and I will share the rest of the book with you tomorrow.  Till then……
