Hi, everyone!  I’ve got a little album to share today that I made with one of the great Easy Easel albums and some photos of my family from my grandfather’s albums.

The heart is slap full of great Art Anthology Sorbets.  Love them!

I added a whole bunch of flowers, ribbons, and butterflies throughout.

That’s all for today!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hippity Hop Cards with Basically Bare

March 17th, 2013 | By Veronica in Blossoms and Leaves, Celestial Shapes, Hearts | No Comments »

Hi Veronica here and it’s almost Easter!  I was in the mood to make some cutesy cards – I hope you enjoy!

I used the celestial Shapes (chipboard) and I though it would would make a great spring flower.  I covered the sun chipboard in pattern paper (MyLYB) then stacked some prima flowers and topped off with a cute yellow button.

Here is another cute card using the canvas Heart and just inked edges.  Notice I used the smallest flower of the “Blossoms and Leaves” pack and stacked the covered chipboard with some prima and button to create dimension and texture.

I also drew this quick and easy carrot to make my “spring” card more colorful.

Thank you for stopping and happy scrapping

Two Cards

March 7th, 2013 | By Beth in Cards, Dress Forms, Hearts | No Comments »

Good morning, guys!  Beth here with a couple of cards that I made using Basically Bare goodies.  Both used We R Memory Keepers paper and lots of Art Anthology paint and spray.  Lets dive right on in, OK?

First up is this “Timeless” card that features a Dress Me Up Dress Form.  I painted the dress form with Art Anthology Sorbet paints (Satin Sheen Gold for the dress and Trolley Grey for the post and stand), which are dimensional and glimmery.  I kind of smunched my brush around in it to give some texture.

Once the Sorbet paint was dry, I added a thin coat of Art Anthology Velvet paint in Mayan Gold over the top of the dress.  The Velvet paint has a much more matte finish, but still allowed some of the glimmer to come through from the Sorbet paint beneath.

To finish up, I added a few stripes of Stickles in the corrugated grooves of the card background for just a little more shine, and a few ribbons.

Now, on to the second card!

I used a Bare Basics Heart for this card.  It has three layers of Art Anthology goodness which combined to match the background paper color fairly closely.

I started with Art Anthology Colorations spray in Lark as a base coat.  I then added Sorbet paint in Lagoon, which is a little bit more teal than the background.  To tone down the teal, I added a final coat of Sorbet paint in Splashed once the other layers were dry.

Like the first card, this one has some Stickles in the grooves to make it shine a little more.

The black ribbon and rhinestone trim are the finishing touches on this one.

Thanks so much for stopping by and having a look!

That Boy Whoo

March 1st, 2013 | By Katrina in Celestial Shapes, Embellishment Sets, Hearts, Owls, Uncategorized | No Comments »

Hi Basically Bare fans, Katrina here.  I have  another layout to share today using the Celestial Set, Heart set and the Owl set.  Actually, the owl was the starting point of my entire layout.  I love to create catchy titles and this just came together really quick after I came up with it!   I love this picture of Sheldon.  It was the first one that I posted on Facebook after we picked him up from our breeder’s house.  No one knew we were getting a puppy and they were shocked!

I played with the clouds a little more than I normally do.  I inked the edges and then used some puffy paint on them to give them some texture.  I thought the sun looked neat with the pattern paper.

I love to decorate and dress up owl forms!  My favorite part is usually the wings and the chest area, because you can do so much with them.  Here I took border punched strips of paper and layered them.

I love that the larger hears can be used to put parts of your title on!

That’s all from me today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Sister Date Night Fun

February 19th, 2013 | By Katrina in Embellishment Sets, Gears, Hearts, Retro Arrows | 1 Comment »

Katrina here with a fun little layout about sisters.  These two are so fun to be around and I had to snag this picture off one of their Facebook pages to scrap it.  (Yes, I asked if I could!)  Their boyfriends must have been busy, because they were having a date night!  Carta Bella’s True Friends collection was great for this page.

I cut one of the gears from the Gear embellishment set in half to make a fun little accent for that corner of my page.  I think covered in pattern paper, added some tied twine around it and a sticker.  Super quick, simple and fun!

Then I went to work on the heart cluster area.  I used a canvas heart and sponged some Prima Chalk ink all over it.  Then I took a stamp from Cocoa Daisy and stamped the pattern darker on the heart.  I love how it gave it a harlequin look!  I also used an arrow from the Arrow set and just trimmed it to fit my spinner wheel.

Just a glance at the title!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Take you sister out on a date, for goodness sake!!!

One More Valentine’s Day Project

February 15th, 2013 | By Beth in Altered Art, Hearts | No Comments »

Good morning, everyone!  I hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day with your sweetie!  Today I have the door hanger I made to share a little love with folks that come to visit.

I used three chipboard Bare Basics Hearts and a whole lot of Art Anthology for this project.  It started with a wood frame painted white.  Then I added some heart-shaped paper doilies in the background.  I dabbed Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional Gel Paint in “Splashed” around the sides of the frame for sparkle and a little dimension.

Each heart has a different design, but all of them started with a solid base of plain white acrylic paint and then were covered with a thin coat of Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional Gel Paint in “Drab.”

The first heart has swirls stenciled on top of the “Drab” Sorbet using “Red Velvet” Sorbet.

The second heart has some random brush strokes in the base coat of “Drab” Sorbet for extra dimension, and then has a masked flourish that was painted around using Art Anthology “Wineberry” Velvet Dimensional paint.

The third heart has small white hearts made with Art Anthology Dimensional Crystal in “Blizzard.”

After all of the hearts were set into the background, I filled in the open spaces with various flowers from my stash.  Several of these flowers were white to start with, but were colored with Art Anthology Colorations Spray in “Sangria.”

That’s it for today!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi, Veronica here to share some romantic sweetness.  Are you making plans with your Valentine?  Why not start by making a Valentine Card from the heart (and wings).  Plus a little cupcake sweetness thrown in.

I  am excited to share with you today two Valentine Cards and One Sweet Door Hanger to help you decorate for Valentine’s Day.

First I used the Basically Bare chipboard Hearts, and to the lovely heart I added some angel wings.

In the heart package you also get FELT hearts!

On my second Valentine’s Card I decided to use (one of my absolute favorites) small dress form.  In the dress form package you get different sizes and also cardboard and chipboard

To make my dress form beautiful and blingy I added Linen sorbet from Art Anthology

For my last project I made a Valentine’s Day door hanger.  It is pure sweetness.

For this piece I used the Rounded Oh So Mini page, the felt medium size fanciful frame, cupcake and felt wings

I had alot of fun decorating my “cupcake” I used lots of the layers, linen sorbet and bling.

Hope you enjoyed my Valentine goodies, happy scrapping …

A Sweet Valentine Project

February 3rd, 2013 | By Becky Garrison in Embellishment Sets, Hearts, Uncategorized | No Comments »

Becky here with you today, and we are only a few days away from Valentine’s Day so of course I’ve been making lots of love themed projects recently. And my latest project is one of my favorites … check it out!

This project, while very cute in a vintage sort of way, is really easy to make!   Let’s get started …

First, I started with two of the canvas hearts from the ‘Hearts’ Embellishment Sets.  I placed them on my ‘splat mat’ and used some of the amazing Art Anthology ‘Heart’ Colorations.  These amazing mists have some of the prettiest and most intense colors I’ve seen.  Anyway, I misted the canvas hearts heavily with the Colorations, then rubbed them around in the excess mist to soak up as much as I could.  Once I had the hearts saturated with the color, I allowed them to dry … helping them along a little bit with my heat gun.  Once they were dry, they looked like this …

Next up I started adding embellishments to one of the hearts.  I hand stitched several bits of lace and ribbon from my stash onto one heart, but if you wanted you could use your favorite adhesive.  This is a great way to use up those little bits and pieces you have hanging around!   And here is how it looked after I had the lace sewn onto the heart …

Next I sewed on several pale pink vintage glass buttons, and pinned a Tim Holtz ‘Trinket Pin’ underneath one of them.  Next I sewed some of the blue seam binding for a hanger by placing it on the back side, and sewing on a couple of very small vintage buttons, going through the buttons, canvas and ribbon, to hold it secure.

And last of all I used Beacon 3 in 1 Advanced Craft Glue to glue the second heart onto the back side of the embellished heart, with the colored side facing away from the center.  This added a little extra weight and covered where all my stitches showed on the back of the embellished heart.

I am very pleased with this sweet heart, and think I will give it to my 82 year old ‘Mama’ for Valentines Day.  She can hang it next to her favorite chair so she will see it often.  Thanks so much for visiting the Basically Bare blog today!  Come back soon, Becky

Basically Bare Plain Jane Album not so plain

January 20th, 2013 | By Veronica in By Product, Dress Forms, Hearts, Krafty Keepsake Album, Mini Albums & Journals | 2 Comments »

Hi, Veronica here to share with you a lovely little album by Basically Bare Krafty Keepsakes  that I call ADORE.  Who says that Valentine’s Day or a Romantic Keepsake album has to be Red and Pink?

I just love the envelope pockets in this album!  I decorated the envelope pages with the Basically Bare Hearts so that I can easily pull out the tags.  There is room on the tags for lots of journaling or you can store extra photos inside the pockets!

Notice the wings that I added to the hearts.  Nothing says “LOVE” more than hearts and wings.  Is this c-u-t-e or what?

There are so many ways and techniques you can use to embellish the Basically Bare chipboard pieces.  On this dress form I decided to wrap it in ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by Basically Bare

Love Is In The Air with Basically Bare!

January 6th, 2013 | By Becky Garrison in Funky Findings Album, Hearts, Jailer Keys | 2 Comments »

Hi Folks!  Becky here today with a beautiful project using another amazing Basically Bare mini album and a few embellishments.  Of course, now that the Christmas holidays are over, everyone is looking forward to the next fun holiday … Valentines!  And my album, made with Authentique’s ‘Lovely’ Collection truly celebrates the season of LOVE!  Check it out …

Isn’t it ‘Lovely’???  I used the ‘Funky Findings’ album from Basically Bare, and it was perfect for this project becasue of all the texture, envelopes and ‘nooks and crannies’ for decorating.  I used a ‘Jailers Key’ coated with red glitter for a bit of bright color to contrast with the softer colors.  Here are more pictures …

Under the cute image on the top left page, I cut a sheet of card stock twice the size of the image and scored and folded it down the center.  I then adhered the image to the outside of the ‘card’, and added some ribbon to tie it close.  Inside there is room for two images or some journaling.  For the page on the right, which is a corrugated cardboard sheet, I took a craft knife and lightly scored the area I wanted to remove the outer cover from, then misted it with water, let it wait for just a minute or two, then easily pulled off the outer sheet of kraft paper.

The small image on the bottom left is another ‘flip’ mat, with room for two photos inside.  Fot the right hand page I used one of the canvas Hearts from Basically Bare, inked it a bit, added a Tim Holtz ‘Trinket Pin’ on the top for a cute aged look.

Another ‘Jailers Key’ left in it’s natural black chipboard state with a red bow and a tiny sticker continues the ‘key to my heart theme, and looks really great with the pretty ribbon and lace embelishments.  For the right hand page I simply trimmed the paper using the printed heart on the bottom for a journaling spot.   At the top is another image with a flip mat for room for two more photos.  This is the acrylic page with a tab, so I punched two 1/4″ holes about 3/4″ apart on the tab, and threaded two pieces of red ribbon through, tying a bow on either side.

For the reverse side of the acrylic page, I simply added a cute vintage image and a couple of stickers.  The page on the right has an inked paper doily with a sticker, and a small pocket holding smaller images matted onto cream card stock with places for photos or journaling.  To make the pocket, simply cut a strip of patterned paper the depth you want it and trim one edge with a decorative border punch, then ink all the edges.  Next you mist the paper with water, scrunch and shape the strip of card stock, and let it dry, folded and scrunched so it will keep it’s shape.  When it is dry (or you have dried it with a heat tool) you just glue three edges to the base page and add your little cards.

Lace and trims embellish the left hand page, topped off with a Tim Holtz charm.  The journaling spot is stamped with an Anna Griffin stamp.  The right hand page is two small envelope pockets, and are simply embellished with another, folded and inked, paper doily and stickers from the Authentique collection.

More small embellishments, another journaling spot from a stamp, and a precious vintage image covering a flip frame for two photos make up these two pages.

A photo mat and some stickers from the collection on the left, embellished with some Maya Road trim and velvet ribbon to accentuate the tab.  And a gorgeous Victorian image and sticker, also from the Authentique collection for the inside back cover.

And the back cover, with the binding filled with beautiful trims and laces make up this very sweet mini album.  Here is a list of the supplies …
